Who is massage therapy good for?
Massage Therapy is beneficial for individuals of any age including infants straight through to the elderly. The Registered Massage therapist will go through your health history with you to determine whether massage therapy is right for you and what kind of treatment you require.

What happens on your first visit?
On the first visit, you will complete a confidential health history. This is important information for the Massage Therapist to be aware of any medical conditions or if you are taking any medications. The Massage Therapist will then develop a treatment plan with you so you can receive proper care to address your needs.

The therapist will then leave the room so that you may undress to your level of comfort and cover yourself on the table. During the treatment, only the part of your body being treated will be uncovered. You will have opportunity during the treatment to give feedback regarding pressure and pain levels.

Does Therapeutic Streams direct bill?
Yes. Therapeutic Streams direct bills for Green Shield and Blue Cross. Depending on your benefit package, a doctor’s note is required. For all other insurance companies, you will be given a receipt after you pay for the treatment with the therapist’s information to submit yourself to your benefit company.

Is Massage Therapy covered under your benefits?
Registered Massage Therapy is covered by most extended health care plans. Check your plan to see what is available to you.

Salt scrubs and hot stone therapy are covered by most benefit plans because they are forms of hydrotherapy.

Are all the Massage Therapists registered at Therapeutic Streams?
Yes, all of our therapists are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
